CCR: Creative Critical Reflection

Image
Creative Critical Reflection 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  - My product shows teenagers working for something that is not the norm for kids our age. It represents kids showing their interest in prelaw by participating and competing. For most teens, this may be considered boring so making a fun commercial challenges the conventions. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? - My product engages the audience by taking them on a tour and engaging them through the video, for most of the commercial is from an audience's POV. I would distribute this commercial via social media such as TikTok and Instagram I feel like both of these sources cater to short ads and spreading advertisements amongst large groups of people quickly. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  - During this production my skills have progressed I...

Presenting... My Commercial

Image
In this commercial, a series of individuals introduce themselves and present their mock trial team. This video had many components in order to be completed my group had to plan, record, and edit to name a few. We included a variety of different settings, and angles and even tried some transitions. In the end, I decided to add a title and the beginning to lead into the video. Finally, I finished with light background music and completed the video.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

My group filmed on September 30 th   my group filmed our commercial. One of our member's filming had a time conflict so we began by getting our group shot and any parts including them done first. Since I checked and made sure that all the filming locations worked, I assigned everyone's locations for their scenes. Our second to final clip features the whole mock trial team and to assure to abide by any time conflicts we got that done first. I am in the first scene and guide the camera through our commercial, so I got prepared and sent the camera out to get the first shot coming in through the door. However, due to noise in the hallway, I had to have another member help ask people to be quiet and we reshot the scene after about 3 takes it was perfect. I then led the member to our next location our lunch patio. Once we arrived, I addressed the sound issue with my group about the road and car sounds. I knew we would need multiple shots in this location because of the noise so I ...

Preparation Time: Ironing Out The Final Details!

Before the filming, I took the directing lead and began to organize every and anything we may have needed. I shifted focus to the wardrobe as well as prepping plans such as where the group will meet before filming. I first considered the availability of costumes, such as what was readily available to the members participating in the video. I decided that the best-suited wardrobe would be formal clothes for all members for the male member we decided on blazers, dress shirts, and slacks.     For our female members, I decided that blouses with either slacks or dress skirts would work best, making it completely optional to wear blazers. We had a variety of set ideas so I brainstormed about which locations would be best. A set is super important I had to make sure to take mental notes on each set's set of flaws. For one of our sets, I knew that the close proximity to the street would possibly cause sound issues. This meant I had to inform anyone involved in the shot to speak...

Scene One: The first scene will start with me opening up the door to the courtroom. I will introduce herself, welcome the viewer to the courtroom, and then go look for the rest of the members. The camera will pan around the room to give a full view of the scene. Finally, the camera will turn to Charlie and Kai.  Scene Two: The second scene will start with Charlie introducing himself. He would state his name and then, similar to a lawyer examining a witness, will ask Kai to introduce herself. After Kai says her name the camera will pan back to me who will go looking for the other members.  Scene Three: The third scene will jump cut to Joey asleep on a patio bench. I will walk into the frame and wake him up. Once awake he will introduce himself to the camera.  Scene Four:  The fourth scene will start with Kyra and Marvin on a different bench. They will be in the middle of a conversation when I will walk up to them and have them introduce themselves. After they b...
