Lights, Camera, ACTION!
My group filmed on September 30th my group filmed our commercial. One of our member's filming had a time conflict so we began by getting our group shot and any parts including them done first. Since I checked and made sure that all the filming locations worked, I assigned everyone's locations for their scenes. Our second to final clip features the whole mock trial team and to assure to abide by any time conflicts we got that done first. I am in the first scene and guide the camera through our commercial, so I got prepared and sent the camera out to get the first shot coming in through the door. However, due to noise in the hallway, I had to have another member help ask people to be quiet and we reshot the scene after about 3 takes it was perfect. I then led the member to our next location our lunch patio. Once we arrived, I addressed the sound issue with my group about the road and car sounds. I knew we would need multiple shots in this location because of the noise so I began the shot. Due to me being the lead and the one with the camera following me through our commercial I am in majority of the scenes. The second location I wanted to use was the bench on the lunch patio, in this scene, I appear to be waking one of the members up to introduce themselves. It took me about 4 shots to get this scene. After we concluded filming that shot, I had my group move to a different part of the patio for the third scene. We had a minor change of plans for this shot originally, I wanted to incorporate the L on the ground however due to sunlight affecting the light we had to adapt and film on our benches to have a nice nature background. The next scene incorporated two changes of plans at first, we were going to film by the media center around some of the cool murals that incorporate our mascot. We then decided on the new mural by the cafeteria to film in front of. We got two shots in this location again I was in the shot with two other cast members. After reviewing the shot, I did not like the results because the lighting was not pleasing, and the audio wasn’t great. Our final shot for this clip ended up briefly incorporating me into other cast members, with two police horses in the background. This shot required about five takes.
