1. How does your product use or  challenge conventions AND how does it  represent social groups or issues?

My music video challenge convention’s because we worked with what we had are video used a local park instead of any fancy sets and my iPhone camera instead of anything fancy. Our props were all objects we had already owned. My video showed a biracial couple which isn’t always represented in the media. Also shows how jumping to conclusions isn’t always the answer our video shows the girlfriend upset cause she thinks the boyfriend is cheating. However he explains himself and tells her he was really going to propose which is why he was being sneaky.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  2. How does your product engage with  audiences AND how would it be distributed as  a real media text?

My video engages with audience by having parts of the video that requires the viewers to read the text on the screen. We have a slight cliffhanger when it seems the couple breaks up but at the end of the video the couple ultimately ends up together. I would distribute our video through social media the video would be posted on YouTube. It would be promoted through sights like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The promotion on social media would also prompt audience engagement.

 3. How did your production skills  develop throughout this project?

This project pushed me to learn more about working with the cameras and angles. I learned how to work with lighting especially working around in natural lighting from the sun. It’s important to be aware of glares and shadows. I used different unconventional methods to get some angles . I also learned more about editing and the software available. It’s important to stay organized with clips and things in the video it helps the editing process. Making sure to double watch and check your video for errors is super important paying attention to small details because they are just as important as the big ones.

 4. How did you integrate technologies  – software, hardware and online – in this  project?

The video wouldn’t have been possible without technology it was integrated through the whole process. Even before filming we used online software to create our storyboard which planned our video. During the filming we depended on phones for their camera and also for the music to play. After filming we used technology to transfer and organize clips. We searched for the best editing software and ultimately decided to go with IMovie. Finally the distribution of the video is primarily through technology. So my video from beginning to end wouldn’t have been possible with out the use of technology.
