Plot Twist

    While planning my music video my group created a storyboard. Within this storyboard, we planned to have two actors. We needed two male actors and one female actor. Since we had a male in our group we just needed to find one girl and an additional male actor. Once we started to plan we decided it was best to stick to our group member Marvin and got a female actor. This change did require some tweaks to the plot of the music video, originally we had a couple that argued and broke up then the female got with another guy. Since we had decided to use one male we changed it to only require one female and one male. We had the original happy couple then they would still get into an argument. The girl still storms off like the original plan however instead of her getting approached by the same man. We also felt this plot contributed more to our song and told a better story. Since the chorus of our song says "Save your tears for another day" it will show the upset female going from being upset to healing and happy again. This change ended up being a better fit for our story. In the introduction to the video you would see the girl and boy in the park they look to be on a date. In this introductory scene, the female will be gifted a bouquet of flowers. We plan to have this prop play a significant role in the video. The scenes would continue and the angry female throws the flowers on the floor. As the male searches for his love, she is upset and crying. Eventually, he finds her and gives he back these flowers confirming his love for her.

First Scene- In the first scene, a couple is madly in love. They have just came off of a date and the girl has a rose in her hand given to her by her significant other. They are walking holding hands down the pathway.  Second Scene- In the second scene, the significant other breaks up with the girl. This absolutely crushes her and she becomes very emotional. She becomes this emotional not only because of the breakup but also because of how shocking and off guard it was.  Third Scene- In the Third scene , the girl turns to something that she always knows will make her feel better. 1. How does your product use or  challenge conventions AND how does it  represent social groups or issues?   My music video challenge convention’s because we worked with what we had are video used a local park instead of any fancy sets and my iPhone camera instead of anything fancy. Our props were all objects we had already owned. My video showed a biracial couple which isn’t always represented in the media. Also shows how jumping to conclusions isn’t always the answer our video shows the girlfriend upset cause she thinks the boyfriend is cheating. Genre Decision Blog

 Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, today I wanted to share with you my group's decision on what genre our final task will be.  The first genre we considered was a comedic genre and this was a genre we spent a lot of time looking at. When looking at it, we liked how comedy and comedic decision is spread throughout the entire media,  for example, you have the comedic and goofy movements with the camera shaking and going upside down. As we reviewed it more, our thoughts changed about the props and we originally didn't like the use of props but as we reviewed we began to see the comedic purposes that props play and that purpose,  it can be the actor using it to do something silly or really anything, and we also liked how we would use diegetic sound like laughing to get the genre across even more.
