Props

I was in charge of filming and co-directing the music video. My group's video didn't really incorporate a ton of props because we wanted the story to tell itself without the need to overuse extra items. We did include flowers and phones however they added to a larger story. Originally we planned to use a classic bouquet of red roses. Then we were going to use yellow roses. However, ultimately we used a mix of purple roses and blue gardenias. The flowers were important to our plot because they helped create the love story. I didn't want to just hop straight into a video with the couple holding hands. Instead, I wanted to show the act of giving something to show his love. We went with a clip of the male giving the female flowers this helped ease into the love just enough to show the chemistry. This helped the next scene go smoothly into the next which includes a conflict. Since the conflict shows the couple arguing over something on the guy's phone. This is all while the female is still holding the flowers. After the conflict begins the couple gets into a heated argument and the girl storms off throwing the flowers on the floor. We wanted it to really come across that these flowers are significant. These flowers needed to represent the man trying to put the female's heart back together by finding the missing piece.
