What to Wear! What to Wear?!

 Hey, guys Welcome back to my blog.

     Today we are going to discuss all things involving costumes. When preparing to produce a project of this nature there are several make-it-or-break-it factors. In our case and when dealing with a movie some of these factors are script, actors, editing, and one of my favorites COSTUMES! Costumes are just another way to sell your movie, and quite frankly they are the fun part.  Clothing and fashion are fun on their own but adding an element of storytelling makes it a costume. In movies and tv shows, costumes can show age, trends, and even time periods. In our movie, we have a minimum of 3 characters our main character is an anxious woman, the woman's friend(s), and quite frankly most importantly the kidnapper. Our production will take place in current times and our costumes will reflect that. We will do this by using current fashion trends and norms. Another thing to keep in mind is your actor I always want my actors to feel comfortable and confident, so picking out colors, patterns, and pieces that are flattering on the actor are factors I keep in mind. However, one costume in our movie is pretty specific and unchangeable. This is the Kidnapper in our movie they will be wearing all black from head to toe.  My group decided that we would want the kidnapper in a black mask, to add a layer of mystery. We want the Kidnapper to almost seem like a dark shadowy figure. We will have this actor lurk behind in many of the shots and give the movie an eerie feeling. The other actors will have more of a casual look since it will be like they are just two friends hanging out. We will make sure the costumes all make sense and fit the roles, for example, making sure that their costumes aren't too fancy or over the top and also making sure all of our costumes make sense together. 1. How does your product use or  challenge conventions AND how does it  represent social groups or issues?   My music video challenge convention’s because we worked with what we had are video used a local park instead of any fancy sets and my iPhone camera instead of anything fancy. Our props were all objects we had already owned. My video showed a biracial couple which isn’t always represented in the media. Also shows how jumping to conclusions isn’t always the answer our video shows the girlfriend upset cause she thinks the boyfriend is cheating. Genre Decision Blog

 Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, today I wanted to share with you my group's decision on what genre our final task will be.  The first genre we considered was a comedic genre and this was a genre we spent a lot of time looking at. When looking at it, we liked how comedy and comedic decision is spread throughout the entire media,  for example, you have the comedic and goofy movements with the camera shaking and going upside down. As we reviewed it more, our thoughts changed about the props and we originally didn't like the use of props but as we reviewed we began to see the comedic purposes that props play and that purpose,  it can be the actor using it to do something silly or really anything, and we also liked how we would use diegetic sound like laughing to get the genre across even more.
