Prop Time!

Image
Hey, guys welcome back to my blog.  Our group set out on a mission to find the perfect props for our final task. We had a list of items we needed to purchase, including duct tape and a mask. We also were searching for props we may not have thought to use. Our first stop was Target, where we looked through the aisles for the perfect items. We found some great items at Target, but we still needed a few more things. Our next stop was Walmart, where we hoped to find more great props. We spent a whole hour and a half at Walmart, browsing the shelves and comparing prices. We found some promising items at Walmart, but we weren't quite satisfied yet. We decided to check out Party City, hoping they might have some unique items. Unfortunately, Party City was a fail, as they didn't have anything reasonably priced for our task. We went back to Walmart to give it one more shot. Finally, we stumbled upon the perfect props in the arts and crafts section. We were thrilled to have finally fo...

Save the Date!

Image
Hey, guys welcome back to my blog. We finally have a date set to film our final task!!   After all of the scheduling conflicts, we have finally decided on a date, which is relieving. April 6th, 2023 is the big day for our group and it is fastly approaching. Now that the date is set, we can focus on finalizing everything from our shoot.  We have to  confirm that all the actors are available on our scheduled date and while they have already agreed we plan to confirm closer to our date.  We have communicated with everyone to make sure everyone can make it that day . We created a filmin g schedule to maximize productivity and efficiency In this schedule we allocated time for running through/ practice shots. We planned enough time to take breaks if we or the actors need it and also will have physical scripts on hand if the actor was to need to look at them in between shots. Next Tuesday and Wednesday I will confirm shooting times and locations with everybody. I p...

Let Regroup and Review!

Image
Hey, guys welcome back to my blog. As you know my group is preparing to film our final task movie and it's been an exciting, yet challenging experience. I think I have given you guys a lot of information so, in this blog we are going to review what has happened so far. Finding the right actors for our movie is crucial to the success of our project, but it's been a bit tough finding people available. We have a clear vision of the characters and how we want them to portray their character, which means we want to find the right person. Ensuring that our actors are available during the entire shooting schedule is a bigger challenge than anticipated but my group has finally come to a solution. Moving on to c hoosing the right costumes is essential to bring the characters to life. My group wants to e nsure that the costumes are practical for the actors can act comfortably. It is time to prepare to start filming we want to make sure the camera captures the essence of the story and c...

What to Wear! What to Wear?!

Image
Hey, guys Welcome back to my blog.       Today we are going to discuss all things involving costumes. When preparing to produce a project of this nature there are several make-it-or-break-it factors. In our case and when dealing with a movie some of these factors are script, actors, editing, and one of my favorites COSTUMES! Costumes are just another way to sell your movie, and quite frankly they are the fun part.  Clothing and fashion are fun on their own but adding an element of storytelling makes it a costume. In movies and tv shows, costumes can show age, trends, and even time periods. In our movie, we have a minimum of 3 characters our main character is an anxious woman, the woman's friend(s), and quite frankly most importantly the kidnapper. Our production will take place in current times and our costumes will reflect that. We will do this by using current fashion trends and norms. Another thing to keep in mind is your actor I always want my actors to fee...

Attention: Actors Needed!

Image
Hey, guys welcome back to my blog.  Let's get right into it  so my group has been hard at work planning to film our final task. It's time to start casting AGAIN! Casting for a film can be an exciting but challenging process. It's important to find the right actors who can bring your vision to life and make your film a success. I t's important to have a clear idea of the type of actor you need for each role. We have been hard at work planning every detail of the film, including casting. My group is searching for actors who can authentically portray the emotions of the characters. Scheduling conflicts are a common challenge when casting for a film, but they can be managed with the right approach. It's important to communicate with actors early in the casting process to identify potential scheduling conflicts. Our main role is secured Sarah who was a part of our music video will be our main character for this process. Sarah is a good actor for our group because she...

Let's Get This Ball Rolling!!!!

Image
Hey, guys welcome back to my blog.  Production has been off to a rough start because I have been packed with work. However, my group is getting ready to get production rolling. We are beginning to plan for filming first we have to find a date to film. We knew that during spring break we weren't going to film because we needed a break from school. I proposed to film on March 25th, however, it ended up being Marvins moms birthday so we had to go back to the drawing board. We also have to confirm all of our actors and make sure the date works for them as well. When you have a group of people it is hard to get a date that works for everybody. It also becomes a bigger challenge when it comes to people our age because we have to ask parents for permission and set up driving for all members. It also gets difficult because weather with our location being outside if it begins to rain and we have to reschedule it throws us back to square one. I do drive so it sometimes helps resolve so...

Storyboard Blog

Image
Hey, guys welcome to my storyboard blog. Quick Summary:A female and her friend walk but she looks distracted and on edge scared. A phone with a notification saying the kidnapper is on the loose is similar to an amber alert. The female and her friend sitting on the bench are afraid and a person in a black jacket and mask is behind them but they don’t see it. The girl heads into the bathroom alone without friends still scared and then she looks in the mirror and the black jacket and mask guy is in the mirror. She goes running away from another friend to her car terrified. She is now in the car, and a guy with a black jacket and mask covers the girls mouth.                                                 #1. Two Friends are seen taking a walk, and the female seems to look a little uneasy. Regardless of the ...

PLANNING BLOG: TITLE DESIGN

Image
Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today, I am going to discuss the designs of our titles for our final task.  For the film , all the tiles are going to come onto the screen the same way. We are going to have them slowly appear on the screen and all of them will be in the middle. The titles will appear on the screen in a windshield wiper type effect. You will see part of the title fade onto the screen from one side until it's the full title showing. This helps creates the effect we want it to have on our audience. It helps creates that effect we ant because the fade onto the screen slowly will give the audience that anticipation that we want. We will put it all to the middle of the screen and we want it to be very minimalistic because we want the audience to have a focus on the opening sequence while the font of the titles adds to our genre while not overpowering.  Next , let's talk about how long each title will be on screen. We want to have each title on the ...

The final scene will be filmed inside a car. Participants In total, we will have 3 participants. Our friend Sarah is one of the actors. She will play the main character in the opening sequence and will be in every scene. We will have another participant, Mya,  who will be Sarah's friend in the opening sequence who is concerned for Sarah. Finally, we will have one other person play the antago...

SCRIPT BLOG

Image
Hey guys welcome back to my blog! We finished our script for the movie , check it out below SCENE ONE- WALKING WITH FRIEND The scene starts with establishing shots. As establishing shots are happening, SARAH'S FRIEND is talking. The establishing shots will lead to a wide shot of both actors and will lead to a close up on SARAH where she clearly seems on edge. SARAH'S FRIEND will then tap her sounding very concerned saying, "Sarah is everything okay?" and SARAH will respond very frantically, " ye-..ye-... yea I'm okay, lets just go inside the store"  SCENE TWO - INSIDE STORE Once inside the store a wide shot will show SARAH'S FRIEND looking in the mirror trying on clothes and say, "Sarah what do you think?". SARAH, who looks very shook still will open her mouth to talk but then there's a sound "*alarm sound ringing*". SARAH and SARAH'S FRIEND will join together where an over the shoulder shot will show a notification on b...

TITLE RESEARCH: ART OF THE TITLE WEBSITE

Image
Hey guys and welcome back to my blog, today I am continuing to find websites to help me research titles and I found a 2nd one! As I was looking on google, I came across this really good website called "Art of the Title". When comparing this website to the previous one I found, I can see that this one looks more complex. But while it looks more complex, I have to give it to the website that it is very organized. It shows title sequences very easily and clearly. Some of the organization of this website can be seen how it shows the designers and studios who made the titles. This website also puts lots of emphasis on color. So while this site may be more complicated I think it does a great job in aiding me with more background on the titles. I think this site is really good like the other site I found and would benefit me a lot in my research of titles. Thats it for now, I have found my websites so be back when I actually begin researching the titles, see you later!

TITLE RESEARCH: WATCH THE TITLES WEBSITE

Image
Hey guys and welcome back to my blog, I have finished researching movies about my genre, now I am researching titles of movies. I was looking for websites that showcase this on Google and I found a perfect website. When I was looking in the google engine I found a website called Watch The Titles. I decided to use this website due to how the layout was very good while also being easy to follow. It gives a clear showing of what the titles are and it even uses different colors to help you. The website focus on the titles themselves and how easy the layout was to follow gave me easy access to the titles without requiring much effort. Also, Watch The Titles showed images of the movies to give us a preview on what the titles would be like. The website is also very organized on the types of titles which makes it simple to find what you need and the website contains various sections for different film mediums. Overall, the site's presentation is straightforward but effective gives plenty...
